Your counselling and psychotherapy sessions in Galway begin with a free, informal phone consultation. This gives us a chance to connect and see whether we might work well together. You’ll be able to share what’s bringing you to therapy, ask any questions you have, and get a sense of what the process might look like.
There’s no pressure to commit, it’s simply an opportunity to decide if it feels like the right fit for you.
I offer integrative counselling and psychotherapy in Galway, which means I tailor each session to suit your unique needs and preferences.
My work is grounded in Person-Centred Therapy, where you’re met with empathy, respect and acceptance.
I also draw from Psychodynamic Therapy, which helps explore how past experiences might be influencing your current thoughts and behaviours.
This approach offers both emotional support and gentle insight, helping you feel more in control and connected to yourself.
Therapy can support you with a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges. Some of the areas I commonly work with include:
If you're unsure whether therapy is right for your specific situation, we can talk it through during your consultation.
How long is each session?
Each session lasts 60 minutes and is held weekly to help build consistency and momentum in your healing process.
How often should I attend therapy?
In most cases, I recommend weekly sessions for at least the first six weeks. This gives us time to establish a trusting relationship and begin exploring your concerns in more depth.
Do you offer online therapy?
Yes. I offer sessions both online and in-person, depending on what feels most comfortable and accessible for you. Online therapy offers flexibility and convenience, especially if you have a busy schedule or live outside of Galway.
Is everything confidential?
Absolutely. Your privacy is a top priority. All sessions are confidential, and I follow strict professional and ethical guidelines to ensure your information is protected.
What happens after the first six sessions?
We’ll review your progress and discuss how things are going. Some clients choose to continue with ongoing support, while others may feel ready to end therapy or reduce the frequency of sessions. The pace and direction are always led by you.
Can I stop at any time?
Yes, therapy is entirely voluntary. You are free to pause or stop at any stage, although I do recommend having a closing session to reflect and bring things to a natural close.
