Mental Health Awareness Week (May 11-17)

5 Important Facts About Mental Health

Mental Health Awareness Week is an important reminder that mental health matters just as much as our physical health. It highlights promotion of mental wellness, reducing stigma and the importance of support.

1. Mental health affects everyone

Your mental wellbeing influences every area of life. Looking after your mental wellbeing is not a luxury.  It is a necessary part of caring for yourself.

2. Mental health struggles are often invisible

Many people experiencing mental health difficulties such an anxiety, depression, stress or burnout may appear “okay” while struggling internally.

3. Consistent routine matters

Mental wellbeing is supported through a holistic approach. Consistent sleep, rest, movement and self-compassion can have a positive impact. Small habits daily can build up a healthy routine.

4. Therapy is not just for crises

It can help you better understand yourself, process difficult emotions and learn healthier coping mechanisms.

5. There is hope, even when it does not feel like it.

With the right support network and connection with others, hope can be restored. Reaching out for support can be the first step towards feeling more empowered, and hopeful.

Healing is a deeply personal journey, and you don’t have to walk it alone. If you’re unsure whether counselling or psychotherapy is right for you, or simply want to talk things through, I warmly invite you to get in touch. Whether you have questions or would like to book a session, I’m here to support you every step of the way.
